Main Idea: Acronym, special type
of abbreviation such as NATO
Derivation: from Greek means ‘topmost word’

- examples, not only JAL, Laser, but also CNN

Main Idea: Backronym, a kind of

Definition: expression that starts and ordinary word, later becomes
