Before you begin, listen to How NOT to begin a TOEFL speaking task

favourite subject 1
A good speech. Notice the complex opening sentence and the almost perfect use of the past tense to describe a topic from the past.
favourite subject 2
Another good speech. Very good tense switching in this speech from past to present tense. Again a good use of the past tense and a nice concluding statement.
favourite subject 3
A good speech, with good ideas. There are, however, some problems with tenses. Sometimes the speaker uses the present tense when she should be using the past  tense. This is something you must try not to do.
favourite subject 4
Good start to this speech and the speaker brings in personal experience (his trip to England). However, there are problems with tenses toward the end, and I don't think he really explains his answer to the question.
favourite subject 5
Serious problems in this speech. First, I can't hear any past tenses at all. Second, and most importantly, the speaker immediately drifts off topic. In what way is  Mr. Alex being strict and not liking the speaker connected to the topic? Finally, the speaker apologized and then said, 'Thank you.' In the real TOEFL test you are speaking to a computer. You don't need to thank the computer, and if you do, the person checking your speech will think you have nothing else to say. DO NOT DO THIS!!!!!
