Oct/22/2005  Cities and Universities I have visited

In my profiles page of this website, I have indicated the cities and universities I visited during my trip abroad so far. In this year, of course, since I am in the USA, I am enjoying walking about various places in the State of California. On this page I write about the places I visited for some porpose each month.  Of course, I don't regard merely passing through as a visit. For example, I have arrived at the SFO, (San Francisco International Airport), already five times. The airport is located in the City of San Bruno. But it is not the destination, so I don't regard it as a city I visited. However, on the way to Yosemite in July, we stopped in Stockton, and had lunch there. I enjoyed the atomusphere of the city, so I regarded it as a visit.
I have visited several cities close to Berkeley many times. On my profile page, however, I describe the cities I visited only at first time. I drew up the table "cities visited". It indicates the all cities I visited, not only at first time. I will update it at times from now on.
And another pleasure was to visit the universities. Until now, I have visited the principal universitis in the world mainly for attending symposiums. Except for the USA, I list chronologically the following; University of Macau, Hong-Kong University, Hong-Kong Chinese University, University of Havana, Higher Institution of Art (Cuba), University of Guanajuato, Chinese Culture University, Shenzhen University, Northeast Normal University, Peking University, Xiamen University, Tsinghua University, Kyung-Hee University, Taiwan University, and National Autonomas University of Mexico, in visited order. Among these, the most impressive one was the Higher Institution of Art in Cuba. I appreciated the chorus, the performance of classical music, and Salsa, by the students. They not only showed their excellent technique, but also gave us high spirits. It was unforgettable. The one I thought had the best architecture was Tsinghua University located next to the Peking University. I thought the constructions there were art. Every time I visit universities, I learn more about what a university should be.
In the USA, I visited four Universities in addition to UCB. They are as follows; Stanford, SUA, UCLA, and UCDavis. I would like to report the impression of each  visit in this diary.
By the way, after September, I seldom visited any new cities, because I was so busy with research work. However, today I visited the City of Burlingame, located south of San Bruno, to hear a jazz consert, so I decided to discuss my visits on this page.
